How do I turn on Mini puddle lights? +
Mini puddle lights activate automatically when you open the car door — no switch needed. They use the same circuit as your factory door light and switch on and off with the door. If your new puddle lights are not activating, check that the connector is fully seated and that your Mini’s factory door light circuit is working correctly before installation.
Is installation plug-and-play? Do I need a mechanic? +
Yes — completely plug-and-play. No mechanic needed. Use a flathead screwdriver or tweezers to gently lever out the existing door light, unplug the connector, plug in the new puddle light, and press it back into place. Takes under three minutes per door. No drilling, no wiring, no modifications to your Mini whatsoever.
How do I know if my Mini has factory puddle lights? +
Open your Mini door and look at the lower section of the door panel near the bottom edge. If there is a small oval or circular light unit pointing downward toward the ground, your Mini has factory puddle lights and our replacement lights will plug straight in. If no unit is present, contact us before ordering — we can advise on drilling-type or management-type installation options for your model.
